Salutations to Sri Ranganayaki and Sri Ranganatha — and to Sri Goda Devi (Andal) united with Sri Ranganatha, the divine couple of every Sri Vaishnava heart.

How to recite

Panguni Uthiram is the Tirukalyana Mahotsavam — the symbolic wedding day — at every Sri Vaishnava divya-desam. At Srirangam, Sri Ranganatha and Sri Ranganayaki are wed; at Srivilliputhur, Sri Andal and Sri Ranganatha; at Tirumala, Sri Venkateswara and Sri Padmavati; at Tiruvallur, Sri Veeraraghava Perumal and Sri Vasumati; at Tiruvallikeni (Triplicane), Sri Parthasarathy and Sri Vedavalli. Pancha-rasa annam, Tirukalyana laddu, and akkaravadisal are offered as the wedding bhog. Recite the Andal Tirukalyana Pasurams from Nachiyar Tirumozhi, the Sri Stuti, the Bhu Stuti, and the Lakshmi Sahasranamam.

Benefits

Panguni Uthiram (Tamil Mina + Uttara Phalguni nakshatra) is the most auspicious wedding day of the Sri Vaishnava year. The Lord and his Thayar are wed at every divya-desam simultaneously — the cosmic conjugal union that secures every devotee's mukti through the divya-dampati's joint compassion. The Sri Vaishnava sampradaya holds Lakshmi (Sri) and Vishnu as inseparable; Tirukalyana darshan today is held to grant marital harmony, progeny, and the merit of seven full marriages performed.

✦ Special Note

The 2026 Panguni Uthiram has already passed (it fell in March-April 2026, before today's date of 29 Apr 2026). The 2027 date is 02 Apr 2027 (Panguni 2027 = Mar 15 - Apr 13, Uttara Phalguni nakshatra falls on 02 Apr 2027). Dates follow the SriVaishnava Calendar of Srirangam Srimad Andavan Ashramam (andavan.org/srivaishnavacalendar/), Tenkalai convention; Vadakalai households may observe Ahobila Mutt Panchangam dates, which can differ by a day on some Ekadashi/Utsav observances.
