Mantra

नमो नाथमुनिनैकं श्रीनाथमुनिमाश्रये · यद्योग-कन्दली-यन्त्रगूढं वैष्णव-सम्प्रदम्

Namo Nathamuni Naikam Sri-Nathamunim Ashraye · Yad-Yoga-Kandali-Yantra-Gudham Vaishnava-Sampradam

Salutations to Sri Nathamuni — I take refuge in him whose Yoga-Rahasya (Yoga-Kandali) preserved the entire Sri Vaishnava sampradaya hidden until Sri Yamunacharya recovered it.

How to recite

At Veeranarayanapuram (Kattumannarkoil — Sri Nathamuni's birthplace and the place where he recovered the lost Divya Prabandham from Sri Nammazhwar in deep yogic samadhi), full sahasrabhishekam is performed at Sri Sundara-bahu Perumal Temple. Recite the Yoga-Rahasya (Sri Nathamuni's recovered work on Vaishnava yoga), the entire Divya Prabandham (4,000 pasurams of the 12 Azhwars — at least the Tiruvaymozhi 1,102 if full parayanam not possible), and the Nyaya-Tattva (his foundational Vishishtadvaita work).

Benefits

Sri Nathamuni (824-924 CE) is the first acharya of the human Sri Vaishnava Guru-Parampara — the founder of the lineage that descended through Yamunacharya → Ramanuja. Most critically, he recovered the entire 4,000-pasuram Nalayira Divya Prabandham (the Tamil Veda) from Sri Nammazhwar in direct yogic samadhi at Alwar Tirunagari, reciting only one of Madhurakavi Azhwar's 11 pasurams 12,000 times — without him, the Azhwar bhakti corpus would be lost forever. Worship on his tirunakshatram (Aani + Anuradha) confers his direct grace and the merit of full Divya Prabandham parayanam.
