Srisaila Mallikarjuna Jatra — the grand Maha Shivaratri pilgrimage to the second Jyotirlinga at Srisailam. Coincides with Maha Shivaratri but is observed as a 12-day jatra at Srisaila. The principal Jyotirlinga-pilgrimage for Karnataka Lingayats given the deep Sharana connections (Akkamahadevi's lingaikya, Allama Prabhu, etc).

Salutations to Sri Mallikarjuna — the Lord of jasmine-white at Srisailam
How to recite
If possible, plan a pilgrimage to Srisaila Mallikarjuna (Andhra Pradesh, accessible from Karnataka via Hyderabad-Kurnool route) for the grand Maha Shivaratri jatra. Take a holy-water bath in the Patala Ganga (the sacred Krishna river-bathing ghat below the temple). Take darshan of the Mallikarjuna Jyotirlinga and the Bhramaramba Devi (one of the 18 Shakti-pithas). Hold and worship your own Ishtalinga.
Benefits
Srisaila Mallikarjuna — the second of the 12 Jyotirlingas — is one of the most sacred Shiva-pilgrimages for Karnataka Lingayats. The temple is also where Sri Akkamahadevi attained lingaikya at Kadali Vana, and where Sri Allama Prabhu and many other Sharanas spent extensive time. The Maha Shivaratri jatra at Srisaila draws over 1 million devotees over 12 days — the largest annual gathering at Srisailam.
✦ Special Note
Per the Kannada Drik Panchang. The Srisaila Maha Shivaratri jatra extends 12 days around Maha Shivaratri itself. Heavy crowds — plan accommodation in Atmakur or Dornala. The Bhramaramba Devi shrine at Srisailam is also one of the 18 Shakti-pithas — combine darshan. Dates per the Kannada Drik Panchang (drikpanchang.com, Karnataka reckoning), cross-checked against astronomical tithi computation.
