Brahmaswarup Shastriji Maharaj Jayanti — Maha Sud 5 (Vasant Panchami day) — the appearance day of the founder of BAPS, the third Aksharbrahman guru in the Akshar-Purushottam line. Celebrated at every BAPS mandir worldwide with grand katha, abhishek, and prasad. The day Shastriji Maharaj manifested in Mahelav village, Gujarat in 1865 — a soul who would single-handedly establish the Akshar-Purushottam Darshan as a separate institutional reality.

How to recite
Visit the local BAPS mandir for darshan and katha. Read from the Akshar-Purushottam Mahima or Shastriji Maharaj's published vatos. Perform Swaminarayan mahamantra jaap (5 mala minimum). Offer satvik prasad. Reflect on Shastriji Maharaj's tireless 30+ year struggle to establish the murtis of Akshar-Purushottam (Gunatitanand Swami beside Swaminarayan Bhagwan) in mandirs at Bochasan (1907), Sarangpur (1916), Gondal (1934), Atladra (1945), and Gadhada (1951).
Benefits
Brahmaswarup Shastriji Maharaj (Yagnapurushdas Swami, 1865–1951) is the founder of BAPS. He left the Vadtal diocese in 1906 to establish the pure Akshar-Purushottam philosophy as taught by Bhagwan Swaminarayan and revealed by Aksharbrahman Gunatitanand Swami. He installed Akshar-Purushottam murtis at six mandirs and trained Yogiji Maharaj as his successor. Maha Sud 5 — Vasant Panchami day.

The combined celebration — Saraswati puja + Shastriji Maharaj Jayanti — is one of the most attended assemblies of the BAPS year.
