Benefits

On June 5, 1907 (Jyeshtha Sud 4), Brahmaswarup Shastriji Maharaj established the first Akshar-Purushottam mandir at Bochasan, Gujarat — formally founding the Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Sanstha (BAPS). This day is celebrated annually as the institutional birthday of BAPS — now the largest sub-sect of Swaminarayan with over 1,200 mandirs across all six inhabited continents.

✦ Special Note

Per the official BAPS calendar (baps.org). Bochasan (the founding-place) hosts the largest sthapana-day celebration each year. Local BAPS mandirs typically hold a special sthapana-din assembly with kathas on Shastriji Maharaj's founding-vision and the worldwide growth of BAPS.
