Shri Vallabhacharya Mahaprabhuji Asurya-Vyamoha Leela — the tirobhava (disappearance) day of the founding Acharya at Hanuman Ghat, Kashi, on Ashadh Shukla Tritiya, 1531 CE. After completing his life-mission — establishing Pushti Marg, giving the Brahma-Sambandha diksha to thousands of disciples, composing the Shodash Granth and the Subodhini commentary, and completing three Bharat-parikramas (84 Baithakji sites preserve his katha-spots) — Mahaprabhuji entered the Ganga at Hanuman Ghat and merged into a column of brilliant flame. This day is observed across every Pushti Marg haveli, Vallabha-vamsha home altar, and Brahma-Sambandhi initiate as the supreme Acharya-tirobhava utsav of the year, paired with his Jayanti (Vaishakh Krishna Ekadashi) which is already in the calendar.

Mantra

श्री वल्लभाचार्य महाप्रभुजी की जय

Shri Vallabhacharya Mahaprabhuji Ki Jai

Glory to Shri Vallabhacharya Mahaprabhuji — the founding Acharya whose Asurya-Vyamoha leela on Ashadh Sud 3, 1531 CE, witnessed his merging into a column of brilliant flame at Hanuman Ghat, Kashi.

How to recite

Recite the Brahma-Sambandha mantra 108 times at sunrise after a bath, facing Mahaprabhuji's padukas or Shrinathji's svarup. Read the Shodash Granth in full if possible (sixteen short Sanskrit works — Yamunashtak, Madhurashtak, Krishnashray, Chaturshloki, Bhakti-Vardhini, Jal-Bhed, Pancha-Padyani, Antah-karana-Prabodh, Vivek-Dhairya-Ashraya, Shri-Krishna-Ashray, Chatuh-Shloki, Bhakti-Vardhini, Siddhanta-Muktavali, Pushti-Pravaha-Maryada, Siddhanta-Rahasya, Navaratna). Visit Hanuman Ghat at Kashi (Varanasi) if possible — Mahaprabhuji's Asurya-sthal — or any of the 84 Baithakji sites. Sing Surdas's vandana-padas to Mahaprabhuji.

Benefits

Shri Vallabhacharya Mahaprabhuji entered Asurya-Vyamoha leela (the divine play of disappearance) on Ashadh Shukla Tritiya, 1531 CE at Hanuman Ghat in Kashi (Varanasi). After completing his life's work — the Pushti Marg establishment, the Shodash Granth, the Subodhini commentary on the Bhagavata, and three Bharat-parikramas — Mahaprabhuji entered the Ganga at Hanuman Ghat in full daylight and merged into a brilliant column of flame witnessed by his disciples and the assembled Kashi pandits. This day is held as the supreme Acharya-tirobhava utsav of the Pushti Marg calendar. Reading the Shodash Granth on this day confers Mahaprabhuji's direct grace on the lineage.
