Hindola Utsav is the beloved swing festival (jhoola seva) of Pushti Marg, beginning on Shravan Krishna 1 — the day after Guru Purnima — and continuing through the monsoon. Each day Shrinathji's svarupa is placed on a beautifully decorated swing, adorned with flowers, fruit garlands, gemstones, and seasonal materials. Devotees swing the Hindola gently while singing traditional Hindola kirtans. This calendar date marks the start of the Utsav (2026: Jul 30 · 2027: Jul 19)

Mantra

Shri Krishnah Sharanam Mama

The Pushti Marg Ashtakshara

Shri Krishna is my one refuge and shelter

How to recite

The Hindola Utsav runs through the monsoon — beginning Shravan Krishna 1 (the day after Guru Purnima) and continuing for the festive weeks of Shravan and Bhadrapad. Each day, place Shrinathji's svarupa or photo on a small decorated swing. Adorn it with fresh flowers, leaves, or fruits appropriate to the season. Gently swing the Hindola while singing 'Jhulan Jhulo Shyam Jhulan Jhulo' or another Hindola kirtan. Offer seasonal bhog before your first meal.

Benefits

The Hindola Utsav is one of the most joyful sevas in Pushti Marg — expressing the playfulness of Krishna as a beloved divine child. The 40-day festival through the monsoon months corresponds to when young Krishna would play on swings in the Braj forests. Pushti Marg havelis prepare a completely new decorative theme for the swing each day of the festival.

✦ Special Note

At Nathdwara and all principal Pushti Marg havelis, each day of the 40-day Hindola festival sees a completely new swing design — floral, textile, gold, silver, seasonal fruit, monsoon leaves, and more. At home, place a small svarupa or framed image of Shrinathji on a simple swing or cradle and decorate it freshly each morning with whatever flowers and leaves are available. Sing the Hindola kirtans and offer seasonal bhog. Vikram Samvat 2083.
