Khichdi Utsav — Makar Sankranti (gregorian-fixed at January 14, the only Hindu utsav fixed to a solar date rather than a lunar tithi), observed in Pushti Marg as the haveli's principal winter-bhog utsav. Shrinathji is offered warm khichdi with ghee, kadhi, til-gud ladoo, til-chikki, and gajar halwa through the height of the Mewar winter. Makar Sankranti is also the universal Uttarayana-arambh, the start of the sun's six-month northward journey.

How to recite
Offer warm khichdi-bhog with ghee at the home altar Shrinathji-svarup at midday. Offer til-gud ladoo and til-chikki — Sankranti is the til-utsav. Sing the winter-rasa padas of the Ashtachhap kavis. Take a Yamuna-snan or Ganga-snan if possible — Sankranti is the Uttarayana-arambh (start of the sun's northward journey), the most auspicious snan day of the year.
Benefits
Khichdi Utsav at Makar Sankranti is the Pushti Marg winter-bhog utsav at Shrinathji's haveli. The Lord is offered warm khichdi with ghee, kadhi, and til-gud sweets through the height of the Mewar winter. Makar Sankranti is also the Uttarayana-arambh (start of the sun's six-month northward journey) — held to be the most auspicious day for snan, daan, and bhog-arpan. Worship on this day grants the merit of one full Uttarayana of bhakti.
✦ Special Note
Khichdi Utsav is one of the rare gregorian-fixed observances — Makar Sankranti falls on January 14 (occasionally January 15 in leap-year contexts) every year, regardless of the lunar panchang. The Shrinathji Khichdi darshan is one of the most-loved haveli darshans of the year for its homely, warming bhog-rasa.
