Tulsi Vivah — Kartik Shukla Dwadashi — the symbolic wedding of Devi Tulsi (Vrinda) to Bhagavan Vishnu (in his Salagram form). Marks the start of the Hindu wedding season after Chaturmas. The Tulsi pot is decorated as a bride, the Salagram as the groom, and a full vivah ritual is conducted in every Vaishnava household.

✦ Special Note
Per Padma Purana, anyone who arranges a Tulsi Vivah earns the merit of giving a daughter (kanyadana) — even childless couples. The first sugarcane of the season is offered as Tulsi's bridal gift.
