Kajari Teej (also called Badi Teej) falls on Krishna Tritiya of Bhadrapada — the third day of the dark fortnight, three days before Kajari Navami. Observed especially across UP, MP, Bihar, and Rajasthan by married women for their husbands' wellbeing and by unmarried girls praying for a good husband.

✦ Special Note
The partial fast ends in the evening after sighting the moon or the Pleiades star cluster. Traditional kajari songs are sung in groups, and swings (jhulans) are set up under neem or peepal trees. Clay idols of Shiva-Parvati are worshipped before the fast is broken. This is the second of the three famous Teej festivals of North India.
