Mantra
विष्णो विष्णो तू भजे रे प्राणी
Vishno Vishno tu bhaje re prani
O living being, chant Vishnu, chant Vishnu — Jambhoji's mool mantra, recited on Ram Navami (Sri Ram's Appearance).
How to recite
Ram Navami (Chaitra Shukla Navami) is the celebration of Sri Ram's appearance — Vishnu's seventh avatar, born at noon to King Dasharatha and Queen Kausalya in Ayodhya. Wake at dawn, bathe, and dress in fresh clothes. The Ram Navami fast is observed until midday — exactly when Ram is believed to have been born. At noon: full Ram puja with offerings of panakam (jaggery-water, the traditional Ram Navami drink), tulsi, flowers, and bhog. Recite the Ram Stuti, selected chapters of the Ramayana (the Bal Kand — Ram's birth — is especially read), and Hanuman Chalisa. Break the fast with panakam and bajra khichdi. Many Bishnoi villages hold afternoon Ramayana paath and evening Ram-Sita-Lakshman-Hanuman jhaanki processions. As Vishnu-bhaktas, Bishnois hold Ram Navami in deep reverence — second only to Janmashtami in the Vaishnava calendar.
Benefits
Sri Ram is the foundational Vishnu avatar of the Vaishnava tradition — and Guru Jambheshwar's panth, while focused on Vishno mantra, fully venerates the Ram and Krishna avatars. Ram Navami's emphasis on dharma, family duty, and righteous conduct aligns with the 29 niyams' moral framework. The panakam offering — cool jaggery-water on a hot Marwar afternoon — is itself an ecological detail: it cools the body and the cattle in the desert spring heat.
