Gurgaddi Divas marks the day in 1708 when Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the tenth Sikh Guru, declared the Guru Granth Sahib Ji as the eternal, living Guru of all Sikhs — ending the line of human Gurus. The scripture is now revered as the sovereign Guru, and every Gurdwara holds an Akhand Path and grand langar on this day.
