The disappearance day of Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Thakura — Pausha Krishna Pancami — founder of the Gaudiya Math, son and disciple of Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura, and the dikshana-guru of Srila Prabhupada. He instructed Srila Prabhupada at their first meeting (1922) to preach Krishna consciousness in English to the Western world — an instruction Srila Prabhupada fulfilled by founding ISKCON 44 years later.

Read from Sri Brahma Samhita (Srila Bhakti Siddhanta's translation), Sri Caitanya Bhagavata, or his collected lectures. Hear his bhajans (Sri Guru Karuna Sindhu, etc.). Spend extra time in study of Srila Prabhupada's works — to honour the parampara line. Chant 16 rounds.
Benefits
Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Thakura (1874–1937) — son and disciple of Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura, founder of the Gaudiya Math (which spread Mahaprabhu's teachings across India), and the dikshana-guru of Srila Prabhupada. He was a tireless preacher who personally instructed Srila Prabhupada to preach the Krishna consciousness movement in English to the Western world.

Per the Mayapur Vaishnava Calendar. Srila Bhakti Siddhanta is the parama-guru of every ISKCON devotee — the immediate spiritual master of Srila Prabhupada. His Brahma Samhita translation and his founding of the Gaudiya Math are the institutional precursors of ISKCON.
